About Our Services

Registered Massage Therapy

What is Massage Therapy?

Registered Massage Therapists in Ontario constitute a regulated health profession in much the same way that physicians, nurses, physiotherapists and chiropractors are regulated. The profession is governed by a Scope of Practice, which is defined as follows:

“The practice of massage therapy is the assessment of the soft tissue and joints of the body, and the treatment and prevention of physical dysfunction and pain of the soft tissues and joints by manipulation to develop, maintain, rehabilitate or augment physical function, or relieve pain.” 1(footnote)

Within their practice, massage therapists will use a variety of procedures and modalities to provide services within the scope of practice. “Massage” is a general term describing one or several treatment modalities, and is often mistakenly used and confused with the practice of massage therapy.

Osteopathy

Osteopathy is the science of structural health. It involves the manipulation of the bones, joints, and muscles which ultimately realign the lymphatic system, nerves, veins and arteries. This realignment aids in the body's self-healing and self-regulation.

Hot Stone & Herbal Hot Stem Massage Therapy

The effect of heat is to dilate blood vessels, promote circulation, and sooth both muscle and nerve fibres. It brings our parasympathetic nervous system into the state of relaxation and results in better digestion, mood and sleep. Hot Stem Massage is a taste of Thai relaxing style massage.

Meridian Massage Therapy
(Tuina, Shiatsu)

Commonly known as Shiatsu. A gentle pressure along the meridian points applies to induce good health and well-being. Soreness and discomfort may feel if the flow is congested.

Foot Reflexology

Integrated techniques of reflexology and Meridian point pressures. A client rests on massage table, and sheets are provided for comfort needs. The session is to focus on knees ( just a bit above knees), down to toes.
